Much like the pencil skirt, the blazer tends to be typecast for the office, so I decided to create three looks that weren’t quite so corporate. This is much easier when using a boyfriend/menswear inspired cut; in fact the boyfriend blazer is a piece I definitely prefer over it’s more traditional, intended-for-females cousin. But for the purposes of this post I went with just a straight forward blazer to see how well I could restyle it.
A blazer and strappy sandals keep the T shirt and ripped jeans combo from looking too casual, but adding a massive slouchy clutch cements this outfit in the weekend category.
This look is inspired by an outfit that I’ve been wearing a lot lately (and hopefully will be posting soon). The blazer is a perfectly unexpected topper for a witty graphic T mixed with bright colors.
This look kind of reminds me of a little girl playing dress up. The polka dot dress and sparkly clutch border on juvenile, but are contrasted by the more serious ankle boots and blazer. I would totally wear this to cocktail hour!
What do you guys think? How do you style your blazers?
