Hi there! My name is Becky, I’m a 20-something living and working in Rhode Island. I studied Biology at the University of Connecticut and currently work in the biotech industry in Providence. I’ve always had a love of all things fashion, beauty, travel, food, and design, so this is where you can find my latest rantings on these topics. =)
A little bit about my aesthetic:
Fashion, according to me, needs to accomplish several things. It needs to look good, feel good, and last longer than one season. This means I’m looking for things that are stylish, comfortable, and durable. You’ll rarely see me in a skin tight dress or Louboutin heels (I actually sold the one pair I bought myself because they were so uncomfortable). Instead, my uniform is jeans and a t shirt or button down (preferably white or flannel). I’m always trying to find more fun pieces that are equally as comfortable, and I love mixing simple classics with bold statement pieces.
I’m a fan of the “French girl” beauty aesthetic, which is to say, I am a skincare junkie and not a makeup junkie, and I’m also too lazy to brush my hair sometimes.
I think that food should be healthy (most of the time), delicious, and also easy to make. These recipes are few and far between, but when I find them, I like to test them and share them here.
About the blog:
Fashion Food Fotos actually started back in 2012. I created it in an attempt to procrastinate studying for finals. The things you can get done while you’re supposed to be doing something else are amazing, aren’t they? Since then I’ve found that I really love using the blog as a creative outlet, where I get to share my latest findings and obsessions in the fashion industry, as well as healthy and easy recipes, travel diaries, etc. Since this blog is not my full time job, content production naturally ebbs and flows depending on my work schedule and the level of inspiration I find during my day to day life. If you like what you’re reading, the easiest way to keep up would be to sign up for my email list (in the side bar to the right on the home page, I usually don’t send more than 2-3 emails a week), but if you hate having a crowded inbox, you can also follow me on Bloglovin’, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and/or Pinterest. I’m even on Snapchat if you’re interested: beckyfmartin.
Finally, all readers should know that I use affiliate links on this site when I can. This means that if you click on a product I’ve linked and buy something, I will receive some kind of commission (if the brand is not included in an affiliate program, this will not stop me from linking to it so you can get the exact look). This, and occasional ads in the side bar are currently my only routine forms of monetization on this blog. I don’t make much, but it’s something that helps pay for web hosting. Any brand collaborations or sponsored posts will be the result of a heavy analysis on my part as to whether or not it is a good fit for the blog, and also marked clearly for you to see. I prefer to work with brands on special projects (i.e. I styled an outfit for Stacked) and not simply accept paid posts. If you have any questions about this feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope you enjoy!
