As you know, I am a huge fan of fall because the weather cools off, which means an increased number of layers becomes climatically possible. Unfortunately, it doesn’t just drop to a crisp 55 degrees overnight, so you have to take it slow and spend some time transitioning with what you might call “half layers”.
Enter this vest. Actually, it’s a dress. I found it at LOFT recently on summer clearance, and the fabric and tailoring were so relaxed that I thought it could make a great duster vest with just my J. Crew skinny jeans and a simple tank from Gap. There isn’t much going on in the sleeve department and so it still works when it warms up a bit on those early fall sunny afternoons.
I paired the look with my favorite smoking slippers ever. They are Ralph Lauren and actually starting to wear through on the bottoms =/. Don’t you hate when that happens? Who knows how long it will take me to find a proper replacement. The bag is an old clutch from Zara that looks a lot like the creations from Edie Parker, which I love. They are so fun but also really clean looking.
What do you guys think? What do you like to wear as we transition into fall?
