Sorry for my lack of posting lately! I was crazy busy putting together the launch materials for my Stacked collaboration (eek! Still so excited about this) and then spend two weekends out of town so I wasn’t able to work on blog stuff for awhile =/.
But I’m back and here to share a recipe that has been saving my life lately. It’s a green protein smoothie that I’ve been drinking for breakfast every day. It’s delicious, filling, nutrient packed, and takes about five minutes to make. I know, what else can you ask for in a breakfast?
The answer is bacon, but let’s not focus on that right now.
:: Ingredients ::
2 scoops of vanilla protein powder
1/2 a banana
1/2 a pear
1 Tbspn almond butter
1 cup baby kale
1 cup (or more, to taste) soy milk
1 tspn matcha powder (optional, for a boost of caffeine)
Simply add the ingredients together and blend. If you want to reduce prep time even more you can cut and measure out the ingredients and freeze in ziplock bags over the weekend. Then when you want to make one, you just dump the ingredients and add the soy milk. Really any type of milk is fine, but I do like the soy milk flavor with this. As for the protein powder, I’ve been using a vanilla bourbon flavor that I found at Whole Foods that I really like. It’s not too sweet so the nuttiness from the almond butter doesn’t get drowned out.
What do you guys think? What’s your favorite smoothie recipe?
